Membership in Our Family Association

The Fairbanks House is owned and preserved by the Fairbanks Family in America, Inc., a genealogical membership organization.  The family association was founded in 1902, and has operated the Fairbanks House as a museum since 1904.  Membership dues are among the Fairbanks House’s main sources of support.

Membership in the Fairbanks Family in America is open to all lineal descendants of Jonathan and Grace Fairbanks (also known as Fairbank, Fayerbanke, Farebanke, etc.), and to any spouse of a lineal descendant.  Regular membership is $25.00 per year, or one can become a Lifetime member for $500.00.

Membership benefits include the quarterly newsletter The Homestead Courier, free admission to the Fairbanks House during regular opening hours (May 1 – October 31, Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 – 5:00 and Sunday 1:00 – 5:00), a membership certificate, and a 10% discount on all purchases in the on-site gift shop.

To join, please print out the membership application and supplemental genealogical form, fill them out and send them to the Fairbanks House office at 511 East St., Dedham, MA 02026.  The supplemental genealogical form is not required, but it helps us to fill out our genealogical knowledge of the extended Fairbanks family, so please fill it out as completely as possible.

On the membership application form, we ask that you let us know the name of your last ancestor listed in Lorenzo Sayles Fairbanks’s 1897 book Genealogy of the Fairbanks Family in America, 1633-1897.  If you don’t have a copy of the book available to you, please call or e-mail us and we can help you find the necessary information.

Please join your Fairbanks cousins as a member of the Fairbanks Family in America.  It’s a great way to keep in touch with the extended family and to do your part in supporting the old Fairbanks homestead.
